Dallas Toilet Voucher Program
Dallas Toilet Voucher Program

As part of an initiative to conserve water, the City of Dallas has a program in place to encourage those using older “high-flow” toilets with new efficiency ones.  If you qualify, you may be able to receive up to $90 per toilet that can be used towards the purchase price of the toilet (not for sales tax, installation, etc.).  The program is limited to 4000 vouchers per year over a 5 year period but the city will maintain a waiting list for the following year.

Sounds great, but what are the restrictions?

Those that qualify:

  • Customers of Dallas Water Utilities (DWU)
  • Customers that own or rent a home built prior to 1992

Those that don’t qualify:

  • Customers that have received a low-flow toilet through any other City of Dallas program
  • Customers that have existing low-flow or high efficiency toilets
  • Customers with homes or bathroom additions built after 1992

To receive the voucher, you’ll have to first submit an application and agree to have the installation verified by city staff.  For details and a link to the application, go to the City’s SaveDallasWater.com site.  Click here for a FAQ list.
