Fannie Mae recently announced incentives to reduce the inventory of homes they now own (due to foreclosure).  To entice home buyers, they are offering up to 3.5% of the sales price for the following:

• Closing costs
• Purchase of new Whirlpool appliances
• A mix of closing costs and appliances

To be eligible:

• Must be a Fannie Mae owned home
• Offers must be accepted on or after January 28, 2010
• Must close by May 1, 2010
• Buyer must be owner-occupants, no investors
